As the fallout from the pandemic lingers, healthcare organizations are seeing expenses rise faster than patient volumes or revenues. Negative margins will continue through 2022 for many, and with little likelihood of relief from payer rates, it’s harder than ever for CFOs to sleep well at night.
How organizations can implement these five steps to improve financial health:
Did you know Ingenious Med has a 100% submission success rate with MIPS? We’ve maintained that perfect record since becoming a registry in 2010. Our data capture for measure performance is fully integrated and streamlined with the physicians’ workflow. And our clients have live 24/7/365 support by phone/text/chat and email.
It might not be too late to consider a switch – CMS regularly grants MIPS reporting exceptions if clinicians change platforms during the performance year and cannot aggregate their data for submission.

Yesterday, Harris Healthcare (parent of Harris Novum, which includes Ingenious Med, Agile Consent and Novum RCM) signed an agreement to acquire the Hospital & Large Physician Practice business from Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX). This agreement is expected to officially close in the next few months, pending the required regulatory reviews.
“The medical industry we faithfully serve has gone through tremendous change and the needs of the customers in our different business segments continue to evolve in different ways. We think this transaction maximizes focus as well as future opportunity for our clients, our more than 7,500 associates and our shareholders.” said Paul M. Black, Allscripts Chief Executive Officer.
While much of healthcare has been digitized, surgical and other patient consent forms still too often rely on paper forms. That’s unfortunate, because the costs and disadvantages of obtaining consent by paper are enormous, including:
Wasted time for surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical and administrative staff
Higher supply and staffing costs
Lower patient and physician satisfaction
Greater liability exposure
Potentially delayed or lower-quality care
Paper forms waste both administrative and clinical staff time because data must be collected and re-entered manually. That not only causes duplication of effort and massive paper and handling costs, but often results in lost or misfiled documents, errors, and even delayed surgical procedures or care.
